Call Meeting to order – by Mike Wuest at 7:00 p.m. Present: Mike Wuest, Chair; Susan McConnell, Supervisor; Ron Benson, Supervisor; Kathleen Morris, Treasurer; Marian Mildebrandt, Clerk. 2. Pledge of Allegiance said by all in attendance 3. Approve Minutes of January 9, 2007 meeting M/S Susan McConnell/Ron Benson as presented, Motion carried. 4. Financial Report a.Treasurer’s Report – M/S Ron Benson/Susan McConnell as presented approve. Motion carried. b.Approval of checks through January 31, 2007- M/S Susan McConnell/Ron Benson to approve checks as presented. Motion carried 3-0 5. Library Report – Linda DeNell on activities at the Library – report as part of minutes as presented by Linda DeNell. She also told of coming events. a.Winterfest book sale exceed last year’s sale by $400.00. They are getting a new microfilm reader. Could not get parts for the old one. b. David Ryan has resigned from the Library Board. – Mike Wuest – we will appoint someone next month. We will accept Dave Ryan’s resignation effective tonight. 6. Building Inspector Report. – 1 permit issued. Attached is a copy of what permits were issued in the last 3 years. 7. Fire Commission – Orlo Bierman – Report on monthly meeting with 1st Responders and Fire Commission. Most of last meeting was closed session. No action taken. The fire truck that had the bad pump is back on line. Repairs were greater than the estimates. They were hoping the pump would have an extended warranty. Possibly $2,000-$3,000 more than expected. It was not regular wear with a pump that age and that amount of use. Mike Wuest – Berlin just got a grant for $65,000 last week. How is our grant going? - Orlo Bierman: it was not discussed. Bill Wagner was not at the meeting. Mike Wuest – Talked to Congressman Petri’s office. They recommend that who ever is writing the grant should attend a workshop on writing grants. Then when the grant is done, should be forwarded to Petri’s office and his office will write support letters. Orlo Bierman – The 1st Responders are looking into see if there are grants available for them also. Ron Benson – would like to see some of the job descriptions as they are developed. Orlo Bierman– 1st Responders have their job descriptions, and the Fire Chief has some done. 8. Town Insurance – Rural Insurance – March 1st insurance is due. Horton group has come in at $5,103.00. Rural Insurance $4,662.00 Horton wants a $1,000 retainer and charge us a $100.00 an hour for any work done. M/S Ron Benson/Susan McConnell to Approve Rural Insurance as presented. Roll Call: Mike Wuest, Yes; Ron Benson, Yes. Susan McConnell, Yes. Motion carried 3-0 9. Update from Building (Town Hall) Committee - Sydney Rouse – in a holding pattern, waiting for the 22nd for the bids to be opened. The County Zoning approved the zoning change and conditional use permit. 73 plans have been given out. Mike Wuest – At the Town’s Association lots of people were building town halls. 11. Karla Sergo application for bartender’s license – M/S Ron Benson/Susan McConnell to approve. Roll Call: Mike Wuest, Yes; Ron Benson, Yes; Susan McConnell, Yes. Motion carried 3-0 12. Public Comments – Sydney Rouse– grant writing are the classes open for all public municipalities. Mike Wuest – The classes are for fire departments only. 13. Next meeting March 13, 2007 7:00 pm 14.Adjournment M/S to adjourn by Ron Benson/Mike Wuest.
