TOWN OF BROOKLYN Regular Monthly Town Board Meeting January 11, 2005 - 7:00 P.M. W1208 State Road 23-49 ---- Green Lake, WI Minutes - Call meeting to order - 7:00 p.m. by Roger Ladwig - Present: Roger Ladwig, Ron Benson, Susan McConnell,Elizabeth Rowley; Kathleen Morris; Marian Mildebrandt, Jerry Buhrow , Wayne Albright (fire Commissioner) - Pledge of Allegiance - said by all - Informal public comment time - R/ Benson had several calls about the dog license. - Are we in compliance with open meeting law. - Yes, GL Reporter and .posted at 3 places - Approve Minutes of December 14, 2004 meeting - tracks should be cracks on #4 M/S Benson, McConnell - Reports a. Building Inspector. Report on any building permits issued. - 2 permits in the month of Dec. 15 permits for new homes in 2004. He received info on other townships in Green Lake. Mackford is the only other town with a building inspector. b. First Responders - Jim Bradley - Presented a report on calls for last year. Is starting a new class with 10 new peoples. One from the Town of GL in the class and one from Poy Sippi. One returning to the town is rejoining. Need to equip them and have shots. Have received some donations - $1500 from Mr. Hill Memorial. $5,000 from GL State Bank - with fund raisers we are well on the way to getting them equipped. Applied for a couple of grants from GL/Ripon Community foundation. There will be 21 responders. c. Roadmen - Report on work being done. - Wuest - doing some fire numbers and doing a little brushing. d. Library - Report on what is happening at the library - Krueger. - wants to get program for children. e. Recycling/Sanitation Center - Ron Benson - P. Dusterhoft called about someone plowing into our fence. R. Benson talked to someone named John. - He does not know who would have plowed into the fence and he will try to fix the fence. R. Benson would like to have it on the agenda next month to see what happens. Ron had pictures of the damage. No other complaints . f. Fire Commission - 1. Update on Town of Green Lake Fire Protection Agreement - Wayne Albright - nothing is finalized, Jim Fox is planning on attending the Commission meeting to finalize an agreement. R. Benson question if anyone has looked at the telephone lines coming into the Fire house. He thought there were 6 lines coming into the fire house. g. Plan Commission - Ron Benson - no meetings 1. Update on Subdivision Ordinance - h. County Board Report - Susan McConnell - no county board meeting this month. She was at meeting about the fair. i. Financial - Treasurer Monthly report. Indicated that we will be paying M/S Benson, McConnell Motion carried 2. Approval of checks issued from December 15, 2004 - January 11, 2005 - Discussion was on K&K with the snow plow bill for 2004. 7592-7675 $51,873.51 1st Nat'l Bank ----#5888 for $37.800 M/S to accept as presented by Benson/McConnell. Motion carried. 3. Update on Web Site - Morris - almost ready to go - Sweeney is doing most of the work. g. Chairman 1. Hire a planner. - Benson - Recommended that we look at the Land division ordinance. And have them tell us what they would do to improve it for the town. M/S to hire Omni as our planner. Request with an estimate to look at the Land Division Ordinance that the county has with improvements for the Town. Benson/Mcconnell, Motion carried. Kathy Lake from Strand called this last week. She has the stormwater plan for sunnyside Subdivision. She wanted to know what she should do. Roger told her to look at it and make suggestions. We want to be able to re-coup any engineerig costs involved in a project. 2. Truck update - Present bids on trucks - Roger has several bids he shared with the board. Town of Ripon has a truck for sale - He and Mike went to see it. It has 47.900 miles, on it with gas. 1993 F350. Has plow, sander, box. Dump truck. Roger made an offer of $10,500. We would probably sell the sander for $800 - $1000. M/S to purchase a truck from Town of Ripon for $10,500 by Benson /McConnell. Roll Call: Ladwig, Yes, Besnon, yes. Susan Yes. Motion Carried. 3. Yard Waste Agreement with City of Green Lake - M/s by Benson/ McConnell, to accept agreement with the City of Green Lake. Roll Call : L - Yes;; 4. Benson 0 Yes Mc Connell - Yes. Motion carried. 5. Beyer's Cove Ordinance - No wake zone - Roger read letter form Allen Weckworth town of Princeton Chairman about the ordinance. - Carry over to next month 6. Skunk Hollow Road Repair - nothing will be done at this time. k. Supervisors 1. Ron Benson - nothing 2. Susan McConnell - nothing l. Clerk 1. Insurance- Suggest that we contact wiese about our insurance. M/S to send a request to have them check our insurance by McConnell/Benson. Motion carried 2. Safety equipment for Road men - Clerk presented 3. Resolution for Budget adjustments for 2004 budget - None. 1. Unfinished Business - a. Update on Fire Dept/First Responder Agreement with City of Green Lake - Attorney Wertsch and Attorney Sondalle will meet on the 27th of January to go over the agreement. Benson - we met with the city and left the meeting with the attorneys to get together and come back with recommendations. Now it's back again with no action. b. Update on Lillian Street home.- nothing c. Update Hillside/North Court illegal driveway - house is for sale d. Irving Park Road Damage (update) - nothing e. Update road damage - Forest, Camelot Trace and Belle Mapps Roads Had the ones that do our crack filling and they figured the cost is within reason. Scott was $1900 and they could do for a little less. Roger will contact Attorney about going after Scott f. Update ditching on Lac Verde Circle. - not until spring g. Update on North Court driveway for Anderson - letter was sent on 1/10/05 with permit h. Update on Complaints on W831 North Court junky yard - Zoning does not have anything on it yet. He checked with them. Roger doesn't think they have been out yet. 2. New Business Develop work rules for roadmen. - Next meeting Public Comment. - Jo ann LaMire -wanted to know who was running for office. Also what was happening to the annexation - Answer will meet with the Attorney after he gets back from vacation. H. Reabe - someone ask him when he was taking his nomination papers out if there was an ordinance on who provides a porta potty when they are building a house. 3. Motion to Adjourn -M/S by Benson/McConnell Next Town Board Meeting - February 8, 2005. 7:00 p.m. Requests from persons with disabilities that need assistance to participate in this meeting or hearing should be made to the Town Office at 294-6600 with as much advance notice as possible.
