NOTICE OF PLAN COMMISSION MEETING
May 1, 2008 6:00 PM

NOTICE: Members of the Town of Brooklyn Board may attend the Town of
Brooklyn Plan Commission meeting at the above-specified time and
place. Members would attend for the purpose of gathering information
regarding the following
Agenda. The Town Board members at this meeting will take no votes or
other action.
Minutes
1. Call meeting to order - by Mike Wuest at 6:00 p.m.
Present: Mike Wuest, Chair; Roger Priebe, Jr.; Ron Triemstra; Harley
Reabe; Orlo Bierman; Mary Jane Bumby; Marian Mildebrandt, Clerk.
Absent: Sharon Esslinger
2. Pledge of Allegiance - said by all in attendance
3. Approve minutes of the last Plan Commission from April 3, 2008.
M/S Triemstra/ Priebe motion to approve the minutes as presented,
Motion carried 5-0
4. Public Comments: (15 minutes) Triemstra – handed out an article
from Tom Harnisch re: why the town should have a subdivision ordinance
– for information. Bumby – going back to the minutes: Chair mentioned
that he had some ideas from the attorney. She would like to have Wuest
share with the commission. Wuest – he was referring to a letter that
the commission had received. 2nd Question – is Lindenwood – going to
give land for park or a park fee. Wuest – no idea about a park fee.
3rd question – previously we turned down Margaret York.
5. Consideration and action on the Comprehensive Plan changes as
discussed at March Plan Commission meeting. – Bumby – thinks lot sizes
should be left in. The Comprehensive Plan should give more direction.
Table #5 – M/S Bierman/Priebe to table until we are done with the
other items. Motion carried 5-0
6. Consideration and action on: 1st 25 pages of Town & County Land
Subdivision Ordinances. – Discussion – Is it necessary to have both a
county and town subdivision ordinance. We need to have an enforcement
ordinance – without having to have the developer duplicate reports.
M/S Bumby/ Reabe to table Item 5 & 6 and have Attorney Bazel have a
talking session on legal guidance on the ordinances. What enforcement
powers we can and cannot have. Motion carried 5-0
7. Suggested agenda items for next meeting - Attorney Bazel speaker
8. Set next meeting date & time - June 5, 2008 6:00 p.m.
9. Adjourn. – M/S Priebe/Bumby – to adjourn. Motion carried 7:05
p.m.
