ุ Call Meeting to order by Mike Wuest at 7:00 p.m.
ุ Present: Mike Wuest, Chairman; Sydney Rouse and Susan McConnell,
Supervisors, Marian Mildebrandt, Clerk: Absent: Kathleen Morris,
Treasurer.
ุ Pledge of Allegiance said by all in attendance
ุ Approve Minutes of Sept 12, 2007 meeting M/S Rouse/McConnell,
Motion carried 3-0
ุ Financial Reports
o Treasurers Report - Morris at Convention. Question: Rouse is
there roadwork. Wuest- McConnell Road Is being done first. Woodland
circle is going to be done next year. Rouse, would like to know about
changes in road plans in the future.
o Monthly Budget Report- Copies were distributed.
o Resolution 2007-2 Transfer of money within budget M/S Wuest/Rouse
to table. Motion carried 3-0
ง $3800.00 from Misc. Revenues to General Government and Public
Works
ง $3800.00 from Intergovernmental Revenues to Public Works.
ุ Assessor report Revaluation update Elizabeth Rowley Grota
indicated they have completed all exterior inspections on all
properties in the town. And have done the internal inspections on
about 30 % of the properties.
ุ Library Report Linda DeNell 25th anniversary of the Friends of
the Library party this afternoon. Friends had a terrific Golden Days
book sale. Monthly book discussions are on again. Food for Fines went
well. November is childrens book week.
ุ Building Permit Report Jerry Buhrow, Jr. No questions, Jerry
Buhrow was absent
ุ Fire Commission Report (Including Fire Dept. & 1st Responder Dept.)
Orlo Bierman Short meeting 1st responders director was on a
call. Parking policy was worked on. Should be handled by next month.
Budgets were approved by both city and town at joint meeting
ุ Update from Building (Town Hall) Committee Technically we are
here.
o Approve or Deny Town Hall Rental Agreement: M/S Rouse/McConnell to
approve agreement with key addition for returning. Motion carried
3-0
o Set date for open house Rouse what is open house? Wuest: Having
people going through. Dec. 1 1-3 2:00 Dedication and ribbon
cutting. Listed people that should be invited.
ุ ETJ Committee update No meetings
ุ Website update Approve or Deny Proposed Contract with Town Web
Design - Rouse option 1 $1305.00 M/S McConnell/Rouse to go with Town
Web Design.com for $1305.00. Motion carried 3-0
ุ Update on City Affairs Sydney Rouse report presented. #4. Wuest
suggested that the money be put in the Caestecker Capital Revolving
Fund. The Library Board will have control of the money and be
accountable to the Town and City as to how it is spent at the joint
annual budget meeting each year and keep the city and town out of it.
[The $2500 was voted on at the Joint Town/City Budget meeting]
ุ Plan Commission
ง Conditional Use Request: Owners: Michael D. Brooks & Mike
Jankowski: Site Address: W1814 CTH A, Lot 1 Certified Survey Map 1755
V7 Section 17, Town of Brooklyn, T16N R13E (+ 2.784 Acres)
Explanation: The owners are requesting a conditional use request to
operate a mini warehousing and storage building business.
ุ Public Hearing Linda DeNell Wanted to know if it was where the
others were, as she lives close to it. Public hearing closed.
o Town Board Discussion and Deliberation Wuest recommendation
from the plan commission was approval. M/S McConnell / Rouse motion to
approve Motion 3-0
ุ Town Board Decision Motion carried
ุ Suggested items for possible future agendas - Budget
ุ Appearances None
ุ Discussion on:
o Violation of Building Code: W2937 Hillside Road, Green Lake. Land
manager is in upper Michigan. County attorney is contacting them.
Someone else is living there. Deck is attached to house. They would
have to detach deck from the house. As it is attached now the deck
does not meet code lacking concrete pads.
o Variance on marina at ABA Jerry listed all violations and
County Board of Adjustment denied the variance.
ุ Porta Potties: Approve or Deny Amendment to Town Property
Maintenance Code
o Reference: Porta Potties. M/S Rouse/McConnell to approve
Ordinance 2007-1.Motion carried 3-0. Stan Arnetveit asked why there
was no discussion on the ordinance before the vote, as it is
impossible to use. The 75 feet is unreasonable. M/S McConnell/Wuest to
rescind Ordinance 2007-1 Motion carried. 3-0 - [Note: Wuest took
time to make corrections with audience participation] M/S Mc
Connell/Rouse to table until November. Motion carried 3-0
ุ Discuss Proceeding with 5-person Town Board M/S Rouse/McConnell
to table to Dec. or Jan. agenda. Motion carried 3-0
ุ Discussion on safe at 1st National Bank to leave at bank or move
Approve or Deny. Wuest bought in 1993 for $3096. It would cost
$700-800. To move and we really dont have room for it up here.
Depreciation would be ฝ of cost. M/S Wuest/ McConnell to leave safe
at the bank.
Motion carried. 3-0
ุ Discuss 2008 Town Budget Due to the State of Wisconsin possibly
getting a budget by October 15 we will have another meeting to set the
budget on October 15.
ุ Next meeting Budget Meeting November 8, 2007 ---7:00 p.m.
ุ Next Board meeting November 13, 2007, 7:00 p.m.
o Adjournment M/S McConnell/Rouse to adjourn, Motion carried 3-0 at
9:15 p.m.
